The highly-touted high school basketball prospect Miles Bridges has made his decision. Bridges, the ESPN 100 eighth ranked player in the class of 2016, will become a Spartan.

Bridges reportedly said the decision of friend and Detroit-native point guard Cassius Winston choosing MSU a few weeks ago was a heavy factor in his decision.

Bridges, listed on ESPN at 6-foot-6, 225 pounds, is a scout-rated five star recruit who played his high school basketball in West Virginia at Huntington Prep. He made his decision at Mott Community College, a school in his hometown of Flint, Mich.

According to maxpreps.com, Bridges averaged 15.7 points, 10.6 rebounds and 2.8 blocks per game his junior season.

The addition of Bridges gives MSU four commitments for 2016, all of which are in the ESPN top 50. The three previous commits are guard Winston (29th on ESPN 100) of University of Detroit-Jesuit high school, guard Josh Langford (17th on ESPN 100) of Madison Academy in Alabama and forward Nick Ward (39th on ESPN 100) of Lincoln High School in Ohio.

Before Bridges' commitment, MSU had the 2016 second best recruiting class in the nation, according to 24/7 Sports rankings, and now have four commits compared to the No.1 Duke’s three.

Before the 2015-16 men’s basketball team’s first practice yesterday, head coach Tom Izzo said “I don’t know why. I just feel great.” A feeling that can only be made greater after the Bridges commitment.

MSU has one more big-time target on its 2016 prospect list, Josh Jackson, the ESPN 100 third overall player and No. 1 player in the state of Michigan.
