In a summer mostly filled with football news, the MSU basketball team received some good news today as class of 2016 five-star shooting guard Josh Langford committed to the program.
Langford is the No. 13-overall recruit according to ESPN. The news was first reported by ESPN recruiting analyst Reggie Rankin on Twitter.
Breaking Recruiting News : ESPN 100 No. 13 SG Josh Langford has informed @ESPNRNHoops he is headed to Michigan State.
"I felt a great connection with head coach Tom Izzo and liked the family atmosphere at Michigan State," Langford said according to Rankin.
From highlights available featuring Langford, he seems to be a relatively complete player on the offensive end. His skill set features solid handles, a nice jump shot, an ability to attack the basket and a quality euro step.
Langford committed to MSU after considering Arizona, Auburn, Duke, Georgia, Mississippi State, Stanford, Alabama, Kentucky and Texas according to Rankin.
According to Detroit Free Press reporter Joe Rexrode, Langford is distant cousins with former MSU football running back Jeremy Langford.
