Students get arrested after setting fire to a backpack and sweatshirt after the Spartan win over Louisville March 29, 2015, at Cedar Village Apartments. The State News.

From early Saturday morning to late Sunday night, at least six fires were started in the city, East Lansing police Lt. Steve Gonzalez said.

Three of the fires were fueled by couches.  Furniture was not used to fuel the remaining three. One fire used trash as kindling. The other two occurred in Cedar Village.

Early Saturday morning newspaper and plywood were burned after the Sweet 16 victory.

A backpack and sweater were burned the next day in Cedar Village, following the Elite Eight win.

Another fire, which also involved a couch, occurred sometime Tuesday, Gonzalez said.
