March 2, 2015

Missing funds at the Veterinary Medical Center

Since May of 2014, the Veterinary Medical Center has been noticing a series of missing funds and reported it to MSU police only this week. Two employees of the center reported that dollar amounts ranging from $10 to $90 have been going missing, totaling $841.90, MSU police said.

The case is still under investigation by MSU police and there are no suspects.

Criminal sexual conduct

A 19-year-old female student has reported to MSU police that she was the victim of first degree criminal sexual conduct. The incident happened around noon on Feb. 19 but was reported to police two days later.

The suspect is a 23-year-old male with no university affiliation who the victim met on a match-making app, MSU police said.

The case is still under investigation and is being handled by the Special Victims Unit.

Home invasion in Case Hall

Early Feb. 13, MSU police were dispatched to the Sparty's in Case Hall for a robbery in progress. Five suspects, all males ranging in ages from 18 to 19, include the original robbers and some who aided them by letting them hide out.

After fleeing into the courtyard, they were all apprehended. One of the suspects was apprehended by a witness.

Items stolen from the Sparty's include a USB flash drive and various food items. All suspects were processed and released and the case is being forwarded to Ingham County.
