Theft from dining hall
A 22-year-old student’s belongings were stolen from Brody Square on Feb. 4, according to MSU police.
The female student employee told police she placed her belongings in a cubby and went to work. Upon returning, she said she found her jacket on the ground and her purse opened with her wallet placed on top, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said. She said $15 was taken from the wallet. There are currently no suspects and the incident is still under investigation.
Theft from Human Ecology
A silver iPad minivalued at about $409 was allegedly stolen Jan. 9 from the Human Ecology Building, according to police. The iPad was ordered and delivered to the building, where an employee signed for the package as a courtesy. The employee placed the package in the mail room, as per procedure, with a number of other packages. The room is kept unlocked, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said.
The crime was not reported until earlier this week. No suspects have been identified in the iPad’s theft and the case is still under investigation.
Theft from Brody Square
Another Brody Square theft was reported to the MSU police Feb. 4.
A 19-year-old student told police she placed items in a cubby in a room inside the dining hall, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said. When she returned, she discovered she was missing $3 along with $2-3 in Canadian coins.
There are currently no suspects and the case is still under investigation.
Racial Slurs on bathroom wall
Sometime between noon on Feb. 5 and 8:30 a.m. Feb. 6, an unidentified suspect scribbled a racial slur in blue pen in the men’s bathroom in the Union, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said.
The complainant was a 55-year-old employee, who was informed of the writing by custodial staff.
McGlothian-Taylor said it is believed to be an isolated incident.. There are currently no suspects and the case is still under investigation by police.
Snyder Hall hit and run
An unknown suspect inflicted about $400 in damage to a student employee’s 2008 GMC Sierra Feb. 4 in a lot outside Snyder Hall, according to police.
MSU police Sgt. Forene McGlothian-Taylor said the front passenger-side mirror was forced forward, damaging the plastic casing. There are no suspects and the case is still under investigation.
