Men's basketball ranks as third in Big Ten standings

February 16, 2015

With Saturday's win over No. 23 Ohio State, MSU (17-8 overall, 8-4 Big Ten) is third in the Big Ten standings

Wisconsin (23-2 overall, 11-1 Big Ten) used a 19-point win over Illinois to maintain pace and stay 2.5 games ahead of both No. 19 Maryland (21-5 overall, 9-4 Big Ten) and Purdue (17-9 overall, 9-4 Big Ten). The Badgers are off to their best start in school history and have been in the driver's seat of the league for the entire season. They will have to play Maryland, MSU, and Ohio State in three of their last four games.

Indiana (18-8 overall, 8-5 Big Ten) topped Minnesota to stay in the middle of the conference standings.

Northwestern pulled off an upset win over Iowa, recording just their second conference win this year. As a result, the Hawkeyes are firmly right back on the NCAA tournament bubble.
