Superheroes are — perhaps — coming to campus.
Construction around the Eli and Edythe Broad Art Museum is fueling speculation that filming will take place at the museum for the upcoming movie “Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice,” which will be filming in the Lansing area in October.
The Broad will also be closed from Oct. 13 to 21, according to the museum’s website, although officials have not disclosed why.
Speculation is swirling that the recent construction near the Broad Museum on Grand River is related to the film project, though that has not been confirmed by the production company.
Details on the shoot have been very hush-hush from the filmmakers. Besides last month’s announcement of an open call for extras to appear in the film, details such as specific locations or construction plans have not been confirmed.
Updates on the construction, including details regarding the development near the Broad, will be provided once they are confirmed. “Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice” is slated for a 2016 release.
