Lansing's Old Town is hosting their ninth annual Oktoberfest — mid-Michigan's only German Oktoberfest celebration.
The real Oktoberfest is held during the end of September and early October in Germany and lasts 16 days, but the Lansing festival is a two-day celebration from Oct. 10 – 11.
The event will have a bike valet, live music, dancing and authentic German food and beer and each attendee will receive a free 12-ounce souvenir mug.
Doors open at 6 p.m. on Oct. 10 and the party ends at 11 p.m. For Oct. 11, the festivities begin at 2 p.m. The event is closed to anyone under 21.
Tickets are $15 in advance and can be found online or at the Old Town Commercial Association Office before midnight Oct. 9, or $20 at the door. Ticket proceeds fund Old Town development, and the event typically raises 20 percent of OCTA's annual budget.
