One of two Spartan Stadium bomb threat suspects will not be charged

August 9, 2014

Lansing resident Anthony Shearer will not be charged in connection with the Spartan Stadium bomb threat that occurred on July 2.

Shearer appeared in 54B District Court today and Judge Andrea Larkin found there was no evidence suggesting Shearer knew his girlfriend, Cynthia Spade, was going to call in a bomb threat, Lansing State Journal reports.

Shearer still faces a misdemeanor charge for operating a car without a license. Larkin set his bond at $1,500 and ordered him to have no contact with Spade.

Spade is on bond with a tether and living with her father, according to the Lansing State Journal.

Spade, facing a felony charge of falsely reporting a bomb threat, waived her right to a preliminary hearing and awaits a trial.
