The women's basketball team had no answers for Nebraska in the first half of the Big Ten Tournament semifinal game, trailing the Huskers 50-27 at halftime. 

Nebraska shot 19-30 overall and had its way on offense. MSU missed several easy scoring opportunities and shot 12-31 overall. 

Redshirt freshman Aerial Powers leads MSU with eight points and six rebounds. 

Redshirt freshman guard Branndais Agee has six points, and junior center Jasmine Hines has five points and five rebounds.

For Nebraska, sophomore guard Rachel Theriot has 14 points and six assists, junior guard Tear'a Laudermill has 13 points and senior forward and reigning Big Ten Player of the Year Jordan Hooper has 11 points. 

Unlike Friday's Michigan game, MSU was not plagued with an early scoring drought. 

But Nebraska was the sharper team, building a 14-8 lead after Theriot fed Hooper for a layup. 

Hines completed a 3-point play with under 11 minutes remaining to cut the lead to three. 

Theriot responded with a jumper, but freshman guard Tori Jankoska sank a jumper on the next offensive possession to make it a three point game once again. 

Nebraska kept the heat coming. Laudermill sank a 3-pointer with a hand in her face to stretch the lead to 24-15 with 9:34 left in the half. 

The Huskers went on a 15-2 run to extend the lead further. Nebraska junior forward Emily Cady hit a tough layup in traffic to make it a 13-point game, 30-17, with 7:36 on the clock. Laudermill hit a 3-pointer on the next possession to push the lead to 16.

Down 18, Powers drove to the rim but missed two putback opportunities. Cady made two free throws to make it a 20-point game, 39-19.

Agee's basket with 3:02 on the clock snapped a six-minute scoring drought, but the Spartans were down 39-21. 

Hooper effortlessly drained a 3-pointer off a screen to give Nebraska a 23-point lead entering halftime.
