This weekend is filled with Homecoming events, but there also are other things happening to grab the attention of students and community members.

Friday

Homecoming Parade
MSU will be celebrating it’s annual homecoming parade with a Creating Spartan Superheroes theme. The parade will feature chief creative officer of DC Entertainment Geoff Johns as grand marshal, over 160 different student organizations, Spartan Marching Band, MSU Alumni Marching Band, sororities and fraternities and more. Admission is free.
6 p.m., downtown East Lansing

Homecoming step show
Sponsored by Residential and Hospitality Services, MSU Black Alumni and Black Student Alliance, sororities and fraternities will face-off in a step showdown Oct. 11. General admission is $10. Bring canned goods and lightly worn clothing or hygiene products for $7 admission.

Alumni concert
MSU alumni rock band Dryvel from Lake Orion, Mich. are performing at Mac’s Bar. The show also will feature The Skylit Letter, Vandalay, Combat Corduroy and Overdrive Orchestra. Admission is $8.

Saturday

MSU Alumni Association Green and White Brunch
The morning of MSU’s Homecoming game, Spartan fans can head to Kellogg Hotel and Conference Center for brunch. Pre-registration is required.
9-11 a.m., Kellogg Hotel and Conference Center

Family weekend tailgate
The Association of Future Alumni are welcoming student families to MSU with a tailgate at Auditorium Field. Lunch will be provided by Spartan Hall of Fame Cafe. Also attending the tailgate will be MSU Dance Team, MSU cheerleaders, MSU Drumline and Sparty. Pre-registration is required.
9-11:30 a.m., Auditorium Field by the Rock on Farm Lane

Sunday

City of East Lansing Farmer’s Market
Offering Michigan freshly-grown produce and products every Sunday in East Lansing.
10 a.m. to 2 p.m., 280 Valley Court Park
