McCowan

Jury selection has concluded for the trial of Okemos resident Connor McCowan, and opening statements and witness testimonies will begin Tuesday morning in Ingham County Circuit Court.

McCowan, 19, is accused of fatally stabbing MSU student Andrew Singler on Feb. 23 in Singler’s home at Castle Point Apartments in Meridian Township. At the time, Singler was living with Shay McCowan, Connor McCowan’s sister.

Meridian Township police testified in April that Singler had sent profane text messages to Connor McCowan the night he died.

Ingham County Circuit Court Judge Clinton Canady III said the trial could potentially last up to two weeks.
