E.L. police report two sent to hospital in three car crash

June 4, 2013

A car accident involving three different vehicles occurred Monday afternoon at 3:50 p.m. at the intersection of Gunson Street and Albert Avenue, according to East Lansing police Capt. Jeff Murphy. Of the five people involved in the accident, two were transported to Lansing’s Sparrow Hospital for minor injuries.

The driver at fault is a 25-year-old male East Lansing resident. He was driving westbound on Albert Avenue when he disregarded a stop sign and hit two vehicles crossing the intersection. There was fairly substantial damage to all the cars, Murphy said.

The driver at fault had minor injuries as well, but refused treatment.

Since he was found at fault, the complaint is being sent to the East Lansing city attorney with a warrant for reckless driving. It will be a misdemeanor charge if the warrant is issued, Murphy said.
