Editor’s correction: Only Dave Lingwood and Jonnie Penn will be speaking tonight, as opposed to the whole cast as reported earlier. We apologize for any trouble.
The MSU University Activities Board, or UAB, will conclude its “Real Heroes: No Capes, No Masks, No Distractions” lecture series Wednesday night at Broad Business College Complex with an appearance from the cast of MTV’s former show, “The Buried Life.”
UAB Director of Leadership and Education Shannon McGreal-Miller said UAB pursued Dave Lingwood and Jonnie Penn because they “wanted to go out with a bang.”
“We were really inspired by what they’re doing,” McGreal-Miller said. “It will be a great event.”
The “Real Heroes” series has featured an astronaut, organ donors and, most recently, Holocaust survivor Martin Lowenberg, who spoke at the Union on Monday about his experiences in five different concentration camps as a young boy.
A ticket is required to attend the event, which will feature MSU Alumni Association Executive Director Scott Westerman, as well as the cast of “The Buried Life,” but tickets are free and can be picked up in room 319 of the Union.
The event kicks off at 8 p.m. with an appearance from Sparty. Westerman will speak next, with a lecture about making the most of one’s time at MSU, McGreal-Miller said. Nemtin, Lingwood and the Penn brothers will go last and speak for about an hour, she said. The night will finish with a Q&A followed by a meet and greet.
