Alternative career fair and DJ coming to MSU April 19

March 31, 2013

An alternative career fair mixed with entertainment and social marketing is coming to campus on
April 19.

The event, known as RECESS, will include businesses and live entertainment by DJs.

The event is set up in three parts, known as Study Hall, Playground and Concert. Study Hall is the portion of the event where featured speakers present.

The Playground portion stands as a social marketing resource for students to interact with officials in an informal setting, while playing typical games children participate in during recess, such as
four square.

Representatives from businesses, including Foursquare, GonnaBe, Spartan App, ONE, Globes and Red Frog Events, are scheduled to attend.

The event will conclude with a concert from Kaskade, an American DJ and producer. His status has risen during the revival of House, or electronic music, in recent years.

Humanities senior Jackie Rozan, who purchased tickets, said she mainly is looking forward to the concert portion of the event, and Kaskade is one of her favorite DJs.

“I was excited because I don’t really like Macklemore and those other people who have been to our school before,” Rozan said.

MSU’s Sigma Chi fraternity and Spartan Innovations are partnering with RECESS to host the event.

Tickets are on sale at WeAreRecess.com, running anywhere from $25 to $40.
