Damage done to Sparty’s Convenience Store in Hubbard Hall

February 18, 2013

An attempt to get a late-night snack could cost the university about $1,000, according to MSU police.

An estimated $1,000 in damage was done at the Sparty’s Convenience Store in Hubbard Hall in the early-morning hours Sunday, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said.

McGlothian-Taylor said at about 2:30 – 2:50 a.m. a resident assistant was making rounds in Hubbard Hall when they noticed the gate blocking off the closed Sparty’s was dented, pulled up in a corner and stuck.

It appeared someone had tried to pry open the gate to enter the Sparty’s, but police did not find anyone inside the convenience store.

There were no signs of theft, and there are no suspects in the incident, which is under investigation.
