Alleged drug theft hard pill to swallow

February 27, 2013

Five Xanax pills were stolen from a student’s pill bottle in the last week and a half, according to MSU police.

MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said a 22-year-old female student reported the pills stolen from her backpack at the Kresge Art Center sometime between Feb. 15 and Feb. 26.
Five of the 10 pills in the bottle were missing, she said.

The anti-anxiety medication was valued at $3.80.

This the second time this semester Xanax pills have been reported stolen from a member of the MSU community.

About 27 Xanax pills valued at $20 were reported stolen from an employee near the end of January or early February.

There are no suspects, and the incident is under investigation.

Staff reporter Michael Koury contributed to this report.
