The American Cancer Society is urging people to “Go Pink” at its Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk Saturday at the Capitol in downtown Lansing.
According to the press release, thousands of walkers are expected to gather to support the cause. The event will include the walk, and participants will be able to have the chance to hear stories from survivors and receive information about breast cancer.
This year, nearly 230,000 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer, and about 40,000 will die.
This walk is one of 18 through-out Michigan this fall, and these walks have raised more than $460 million since 1993.
Registration for the event begins at 9:30 a.m. and the walk begins at 11 a.m.
