Backpack stolen at MSU

September 14, 2012

A 19-year-old male student had his backpack stolen from outside East Akers Hall on Sept. 10.

The student said he had left his backpack on a bench outside while he skateboarded, and he forgot his backpack when he re-entered East Akers Hall, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said.

When the student realized between 9 and 9:30 p.m. that his backpack still was outside, it had been stolen.

The $40 backpack contained a 13-inch black Apple MacBook valued at $1,500 and a precalculus textbook valued at $150, McGlothian-Taylor said.

There are no suspects, and the investigation is ongoing, she said.
