A local Three Rivers, Mich., resident spoke with missing MSU junior Marco Drayton the night before his disappearance at a nearby Meijer.

According to a Three Rivers Police Department release, Drayton was reported missing after he left in his mother’s van for a friend’s house around 9:30 p.m. Sunday and did not come back. Drayton’s friends reported his clothes, wallet, shoes and phone were found by Corey Lake in Three Rivers, but the van has not yet been located.

Drayton’s friend Kevonte Wilder said he saw Drayton at about 10:20 p.m. Sunday, the night before he was reported missing, at a local Meijer.

Wilder was working as a cashier that evening and said he spotted his friend in a nearby aisle. Wilder said he approached Drayton and they talked for a short time.

“He seemed calm, normal Marco cracking jokes,” Wilder said. “I had no suspicion that he was in trouble or anything like that.”

The pair continued to catch up as Wilder rang Drayton’s purchases: a bottle of water, Neosporin, fish oil vitamin pills and a toolset.

“He seemed calm and collected,” Wilder said. “When I found he was missing it was a shock to me.”
Three Rivers resident Kristen Kellogg-Alexander said a community prayer circle will be held at 7 p.m. tonight at Three Rivers High School, 700 6th Avenue, in Three Rivers, on the football field.

“Anyone is welcome and that especially includes his MSU classmates,” Kellogg-Alexander said.
