Junior center fielder Kylene Hopkins added to her decorated 2012 season by being named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association, or NFCA, Great Lakes all-region team Tuesday. Joining her on the region’s second team were three players from Big Ten champion Michigan — pitcher Haylie Wagner, first baseman Amanda Chidester and utility player Sara Driesenga.

Last week, Hopkins was the lone member of the MSU softball team named to any of the three All-Big Ten teams by taking home first-team honors. The junior started every game in a season that saw MSU finish winless in Big Ten play.

Hopkins led the Spartans in hits, doubles, runs batted in and batting average, which was good enough for second best in the conference at .397.
