Communication senior Christopher Van Nest said his style can consist of just about anything. Van Nest wears articles of clothing ranging from black leather jackets to cardigans.
“I tend to just throw stuff together that I think will look good,” he said. “Even if it doesn’t look good, I’ll just try to pull it off anyway.”
What he’s wearing: A studded black jacket from a store in New York City, a scarf from Urban Outfitters, jeans from a study abroad trip to Belgium and boots from a vintage store in Los Angeles.
Personal style: Van Nest said his personal style varies from day to day and depends on how he feels when he wakes up. At times he can be seen wearing a leather jacket, boots and sunglasses, while at others, a cardigan, tie and loafers.
Inspiration: Van Nest said he gets inspiration from his peers’ outfits. He likes to take what they are wearing and make it his own.
Favorite articles of clothing: Jackets, scarves and boots
Favorite local store: Van Nest said he does not like to shop in the Lansing area. Instead, he does much of his shopping online, often using Google to search for discount designer clothing.
Favorite designer: Alexander McQueen
