Two experts on the effects of Martin Luther King Jr.’s involvement with the American civil rights movement will speak Friday from 12:15-1:30 p.m. in the Auditorium.
Michael Honey, an expert on American race and labor issues, will be speaking about how King’s work relates to work issues in the modern day, including the Occupy Wall Street movement and what he says are assaults on union labor in the modern day.
Honey, a scholar of African American and labor history at University of Washington-Tacoma, is the author of multiple books about labor and King’s work in the 1960s.
The event is co-sponsored by the American and African studies programs.
