MSU men’s basketball coach Tom Izzo confirmed to the Detroit Free Press on Tuesday that his team will wear a camouflage uniform for the Nov. 11 Carrier Classic game against North Carolina.
“I haven’t seen the jerseys yet,” Izzo told the Free Press. “Supposed to be (camouflage). I just don’t know what they look like.”
Izzo told the Free Press everything being done in preperation for the Carrier Classic is meant to honor the military in some form.
Update: North Caroline confirmed on tarheelblue.com that the Tar Heels also will be wearing camouflage jerseys. The North Carolina jerseys feature “U.S.A.” on the back rather than player names. No details were given about the MSU uniforms, but the website did say the Spartans also will be wearing camouflage.
