U.S. News & World Report rankings bring MSU to no. 71

September 13, 2011

Several MSU programs rose in the 2012 U.S. News & World Report rankings released Tuesday.
The university itself gained eight places, climbing from No. 79 in the 2011 report to No. 71 nationally in the 2012 report.

But the university remains dangerously close to the bottom of the Big Ten conference.

Indiana University sits just below MSU at No. 75, and the newly added University of Nebraska rests at No. 101.

MSU is tied with University of Iowa, Virginia Technological University and Brigham Young University.

The supply chain management program was ranked first in the nation, beating the Massachusetts Institute of Technology who previously held the top spot. The Eli Broad College of Business rose to 24 in the nation from its previous 28.

The U.S. News & World Report print edition is set for a Sept. 20 release date.
