Fresh off of its 2011 Big Ten championship, the MSU baseball team began fall practice this week in preparation for its first exhibition game Saturday.
The Spartans will travel to South Bend, Ind. to play Notre Dame, with the game scheduled to finish before the No. 15 MSU football team’s 3:30 p.m. game against the Fighting Irish.
In a similar fashion last fall, the Notre Dame baseball team came to East Lansing to play the Spartans before the two schools’ football programs met at Spartan Stadium. The Spartans won that game 4-2.
Fall practice continues next week with MSU hosting a Green vs. White scrimmage at 3:30 p.m. Sept. 23 at McLane Baseball Stadium at Kobs Field. MSU ends its fall season with the five-game Green and White World Series, which begins Oct. 11 and runs through Oct. 16, with all games played at McLane Baseball Stadium at Kobs Field.
