Cross country set to travel to Minnesota

September 21, 2011

After a successful weekend competing in the Spartan Invitational home meet, the MSU cross country team will travel to the Roy Griak Invitational on Saturday hosted by Minnesota.

The course is located at Les Bolstad Golf Course in Falcon Heights, Minn., and the men will start off the event in the 8,000-meter race at 1:20 p.m. Following the men is the women’s 6,000-meter race at 2:10 p.m.

Joining the Spartans on Saturday are eight women’s teams and three men’s teams ranked in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association’s national coaches’ poll.

The MSU men sit in fifth for the USTFCCCA Great Lakes regional ranking, and after a strong performance at the Spartan Invitational, the women’s team was ranked 26th by the USTFCCCA national weekly poll.
