A 2009 graduate, Alex Ticu meets green grass inside the W.J. Beal Botanical Garden on Wednesday’s sunny afternoon. This garden, established in 1873, houses over five-thousand species such as the Japanese Katsura tree, right, for educational and recreational purposes.
