Semitruck rolls backward into car

June 27, 2011

A semitruck backed into a 43-year-old Lansing woman’s car at about 9:30 a.m. June 24 on Service and Recycling roads, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said.

The 39-year-old male driver of the 2010 white Volvo semitruck stopped on the roadway because he missed his turn, McGlothian-Taylor said.

The man’s semitruck began rolling backward and hit the woman’s 2005 silver Honda while she was inside.

The woman did not receive a ticket, but the man was cited for hazardous action for improper backing.

The amount of damage was not estimated.
