A 50-year-old male university employee reported scrap metal stolen from a dumpster between 7-8 p.m. on May 30 outside the T.B. Simon Power Plant loading area, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said.
Although it is unknown how much scrap metal allegedly was stolen, almost half of the dumpster filled with metal was taken, McGlothian-Taylor said.
The allegedly stolen metal was valued at about $500.
The complainant observed two white males in a dark blue or black pickup truck carrying a 5-by-7 foot utility trailer with wooden sides
filled with scrap metal.
The first man was described as blonde with medium-length hair and wore a T-shirt.
The second man was described as blonde with short hair and wore a white tank top.
The incident is under investigation.
