ASMSU official submits resignation

March 21, 2011

ASMSU’s former Academic Assembly Chairperson Justin Epstein announced his official resignation to ASMSU officials on March 16.

ASMSU is MSU’s undergraduate student government.

In an e-mail that served as his official resignation, Epstein cited unforeseen personal circumstances as the reason behind his decision to approach the assembly with his resignation.

The Academic Assembly voted March 15 in favor of endorsing Epstein’s resignation with 10 representatives in approval.

In the e-mail, Epstein apologized to the seven representatives who did not vote for his resignation.

His leave of absence is effective immediately. Internal Vice-Chairperson Zachary Taylor will serve as interim chair until a new chair is elected. That election will take place once the new assembly is seated, following representative elections in early April.
