Playin’ to the crowd

February 14, 2011

For almost 25 years, Jerry Sprague has been playing music at bars in college towns across Michigan.

“Usually when people ask me what I do for a living, I say that I sing to drunk college students five nights a week,” he said.

With his 57th birthday just around the corner, Sprague is approaching a crossroads in his life both musically and personally.

“Why would you quit, you know? It’s the dream job,” he said.
