In its first away dual meet in more than a month, the MSU wrestling team lost to Indiana, 22-9.
The Hoosiers got off to a quick start and an early 10-0 lead by winning the first three matches.
The Spartans’ No. 20 sophomore 149-pounder Dan Osterman notched the team’s first win by defeating Geno Capezio by a score of 7-4.
Osterman and junior 174-pounder Curran Jacobs each continued their great seasons by recording their 21st wins of the year.
Freshman 157-pounder Sean McMurray, an Indiana native, was excited to have the opportunity to return to his home state and compete in front of family and friends. McMurray lost to Indiana’s No. 8 Paul Young by a 5-2 decision.
The meets mark the third-straight losses to Big Ten competition for the Spartans (9-6 overall, 1-5 Big Ten).
MSU lost to Purdue on Sunday, 22-9.
