Lucious was dismissed for the season on Jan. 25 for conduct detrimental to the team.
Two of Lucious’ friends play for Iowa State – former Spartan Chris Allen and childhood friend Diante Garrett.
Lucious tweeted he was in Ames earlier today.
“In Ames Iowa bout 2 eat wit (Garrett) (Allen) and (Iowa State guard Chris Babb)”
Lucious and Garrett both grew up in Milwaukee and played against each other in AAU tournaments.
“I keep in contact with (Garrett) all of the time,” Lucious told cyclonefanatic.com. “He told me that I should try to visit Iowa State. Then, they said that they were interested in me and wanted me to come down there to take a visit. I realized that I should come down there this weekend to watch them play Kansas State.”
Allen was kicked off the Spartans in the summer and transferred to Iowa State, where he is sitting out this season, per NCAA rules. If Lucious were to transfer, he would have to sit out next season.
If Lucious were to transfer, he likely wouldn’t play with Allen or Garrett as Garrett is a senior and Lucious would have to sit out next season, when Allen can play.
Lucious said Allen has given Iowa State rave reviews but Lucious won’t make a decision just yet.
“I’ll hopefully get a feel for everything and make a decision over the next couple weeks,” Lucious said. “I am going to try to make a couple more visits but I’m not sure really. I still have to talk to my family a little more about it.”
