Show to celebrate Mozart’s birthday

The MSU College of Music will celebrate Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s 255th birthday during Happy Birthday Mozart, a musical performance at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the Music Building Auditorium.

Tickets can be purchased from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday in 102 Music Building.

Tickets are free to students with a valid identification and children under age 18. Adults can purchase tickets for $10 and seniors can purchase tickets for $8.

Before the performance, assistant professor of music Marcie Ray will lecture about the history of Mozart and his music.

The lecture will begin at 6:45 p.m. in the Music Building Auditorium.
Performers will play chamber music by Mozart for piano, winds and strings. The selection includes “Quintet for Piano and Winds in E-flat, K. 452” and “Sonata in B-flat major for Piano Four Hands.”

Birthday cake will be served after the performance.
