Lake City, Mich., resident Ervin Chaffee poses in front of one of the many Christmas trees he sells in front of Meijer, 2055 W. Grand River Ave., in Okemos. Chaffee is an employee of Watson Tree Farms, which sells trees in Michigan and Florida. Business is slow during the week, leaving Chaffee with nothing but his radio and thoughts to keep him company. When asked where he would go if anywhere was an option, Chaffee said, “I’d be in Hawaii. I could care less if I ever saw snow again.”
