Snyder announces new appointments

November 8, 2010

Continuing to build his gubernatorial team, Governor-elect Rick Snyder announced Monday Democratic Speaker of the House and former gubernatorial candidate Andy Dillon, D-Redford, will serve as Michigan Treasurer.

Republican Dick Posthumus, who served as lieutenant governor under former Governor John Engler and lost the 2002 election to Gov. Jennifer Granholm, agreed to join Snyder’s administration as senior adviser to the governor. Posthumus also is the former CEO of Grand Rapids-based furniture manufacturer Compatico.

Dillon and Posthumus will make knowledgeable additions to a bipartisan campaign, Snyder said in a statement.

“We are putting together a diverse team with unparalleled legislative and private sector experience,” Snyder said.
