Student’s phone stolen at Main Library

A student’s cell phone allegedly was stolen Monday while she studied at the Main Library, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said.

The 20-year-old victim left the phone next to the computer where she was working while retrieving something from the printer, McGlothian-Taylor said. When she returned, the cell phone, valued at $400, was missing.

A 19-year-old man was sitting at an adjacent computer. The victim accused the man of taking her phone, but he denied it.

The incident still is under investigation.
