Money stolen during tornado warning

Two women reported items stolen from their purses when they left them in a room to move to a safer area during a tornado warning, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said.

The women, both from Dallas, Texas, were attending an Oct. 26 seminar at the James B. Henry Center for Executive Development, 3535 Forest Road, in Lansing, McGlothian-Taylor said.

One woman had $15 in cash and a credit card allegedly stolen from her purse. The other woman had $120 in cash alledgedly stolen from a change purse, which was inside a larger bag.

There are no suspects and the incident is under investigation.
