Garden benches sustain damage

Benches in the W.J. Beal Botanical Gardens alledgedly sustained more than $2,000 in damage between Friday night and late Saturday morning, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said.

The Baldwin Bench at the east end of the garden had its entire back taken off and will need to be replaced, McGlothian-Taylor said. Cost of replacement is $2,000.The Henderson Bench, at the west end of the garden was pulled from its bolted foundation damaging the legs Repairs will cost about $500.

There are no suspects at this time.
