Rucker waives rights for arraignment

October 20, 2010

Senior cornerback Chris L. Rucker waived his right for an arraignment on a charge of driving while intoxicated Wednesday in East Lansing’s 54-B District Court, according to a court clerk.

Rucker was charged with one count of operating under the influence, or drunken driving, on Oct. 10.

Rucker is more than halfway through a 12-month probation he received in March after pleading guilty to two counts of assault and battery in connection with a November 2009 assault in Rather Hall.

A stipulation of the probation prevented Rucker from purchasing or consuming alcohol while on the probation.

On Sunday night, head coach Mark Dantonio said Rucker’s status on the team was still uncertain.
