An MSU student was allegedly assaulted early Friday morning on Shaw Lane near the entrance to Lot 61, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said.
The 19-year-old male student was walking with his girlfriend, a 19-year-old MSU student, and another witness from Rockford, Mich., when a white college-aged male made a derogatory comment about the victim’s girlfriend, McGlothian-Taylor said.
The victim attempted to confront the man who made the comment, but the suspect, another white college-aged male, punched the victim in the left eye. The victim was treated at Lansing’s Sparrow Hospital.
