Junior guard Korie Lucious pleaded guilty to one count of reckless driving Thursday, according to court documents.
Lucious was arrested Monday on suspicion of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated. The charge was reduced from an OWI to a reckless driving charge.
According to a copy of the ticket issued to Lucious, his blood alcohol content was 0.09 when he was pulled over. The player had been driving a red 2002 Buick when he was arrested near Charles and Linden streets at about 2:20 a.m.
“I am disappointed in Korie, and Korie’s disappointed in himself,” men’s basketball head coach Tom Izzo said Friday in a statement on the incident. “We look forward to moving past this.”
Lucious will not turn 21 until Nov. 5. For reckless driving, Lucious faces 93 days in jail and a $500 fine, according to the city of East Lansing’s website.
Lucious, a Milwaukee native, averaged 5.6 points and 3.2 assists in 36 games last season. When then-junior guard Kalin Lucas went down with a ruptured Achilles’ tendon in the NCAA Tournament, then-sophomore Lucious filled in as point guard and led the team to the Final Four.
