MSU’s 30th annual Jazz Spectacular will be held Wednesday through Friday and is sponsored by the College of Music.
MSU student jazz ensembles will perform from 12:30-7 p.m. Wednesday in the Union Ballroom. There also will be a swing dance performance at 8 p.m., which is co-sponsored by the University Activities Board. The events are free and open to the public.
MSU professors of jazz will perform with guest artists at 8 p.m. Friday in the Music Building Auditorium. Tickets are $10 for adults, $8 for senior citizens and free for students.
There also will be a cabaret concert featuring the Carl Allen-Rodney Whitaker Project at 8 p.m. Saturday in the Demonstration Hall ballroom.
Following the concert, there will be a Big Band Dance with MSU Jazz Orchestra I and an appearance by the State Swing Society.
Individual seats are $50 per person, which includes a $25 tax-deductible donation. General admission is $25 for adults, $20 for seniors and $15 for students.
