The East Lansing Police Department responded to a report of a bank robbery at about 4:30 p.m. Friday at Flagstar Bank, 1400 E. Lake Lansing Road.
Police reported that the suspect had been seen twice earlier in the day near the bank, located close to the intersection of Lake Lansing and Hagadorn roads.
The suspect made appearances at about 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.
The suspect is described as a black male, about 20 years old and of medium height.
He was reported to have been a slim man wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, sunglasses and a gold baseball hat.
Police reported that the man had a weapon visibly on him and fled the Flagstar Bank to the northwest.
The suspect was then picked up by a black or Hispanic male driving a four-door, white Chevrolet Malibu.
The East Lansing Police Department could not comment on whether the suspect had stolen anything from the bank, and police were unavailable for further comment Sunday.
Anyone with information is encouraged to call the East Lansing Police Department at (517) 351-4220.
