MSU’s Academic Council approved updates to Academic Governance bylaws at its meeting Tuesday.
About a half decade in the making, the changes include updates to names of university committees, clarifying roles for students and faculty in Academic Governance and redefining certain governance processes.
The bylaw amendments passed unanimously.
Harold Hughes, chairman of the Executive Committee of Academic Council, said at the meeting that approving the amendments was a lengthy process.
He expressed gratefulness that putting the matter to rest would allow the various governance committees to continue work on other university matters.
