As the only Spartan swimmer to compete in the 2010 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships, freshman Jacob Jarzen finished his two days of competition this weekend in Columbus, Ohio.
Jarzen swam in two events Saturday, finishing 24th in the 100-meter butterfly with a time of 47.12 and 32nd in the 100-meter backstroke with a time of 48.24.
On Sunday, Jarzen finished 29th in the 200-meter backstroke with a time of 1:44.32.
Before the NCAA Championships, Jarzen was named Big Ten Freshman of the Year and set three individual school records at the Big Ten Championships in the 100-meter butterfly (47.01), 100-meter backstroke (48.28) and 200-meter backstroke (1:44.43).
