X-rays taken Wednesday on junior guard Kalin Lucas’ ankle were negative, but the Spartans’ leading scorer has a sprained ankle, MSU Athletics Communications said.
Lucas went down in the second half of MSU’s 67-49 loss at Wisconsin on Tuesday night after landing on a Wisconsin player’s foot following a jump-shot.
The Spartans did not practice Wednesday and Lucas’ status for Saturday’s game at Illinois (9 p.m., ESPN) is uncertain.
Lucas was averaging 16 points per game entering Tuesday’s game. He had scored in double figures in 33 consecutive games before the streak ended against Wisconsin.
