Music program gives folk lessons

February 1, 2010

The spring session of the Residential College in the Arts and Humanities’ Community Music School folk music program will begin from 6:30-9:30 p.m. tonight in Snyder-Phillips Hall.

Each Tuesday evening until April 13, registered students can take lessons in guitar, ukulele, mandolin, fiddle, banjo or bass.

Included with the music lesson is a free jam session, which also is open to the public.

Known in Greater Lansing for its music therapy and music education programs, the MSU Community Music School offers music to all individuals.

The program is $124 for a 10-week session, but is offered to RCAH students and residents of Snyder-Phillips Hall for $99.

String instruments will be available for rental or purchase.
