MSU and the University of Michigan announced Thursday that their hockey teams will face off in hockey’s natural locale — outside.
“The Big Chill at the Big House” is scheduled for Dec. 11 at Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbor. The Spartans and Wolverines are expected to face off at 3 p.m.
In front of a world-record crowd of 74,544 at Spartan Stadium, MSU hosted the “Cold War” on Oct. 6, 2001. That game ended in a 3-3 tie, later kicking off three outdoor men’s collegiate hockey matches.
